The pattern for the Fairy Peddler was modified by Dianna Effner to create the Fiber Godmother as described in the March 2005 Doll Costuming magazine.

Pick a woodland color scheme and have fun combining fabrics for the fairy peddler. Consider dying and over-dying fabrics to get the results you want.

Her pantaloons are made from a white cotton t-shirt knit tinted with forest green dye. The result is a soft sage green. White and green striped knit can be over dyed with green to make 2 tone green striped socks.

Her dress features a teal suede jacket top with turned up elbow length cuffs and a laced front. The skirt is muted watercolor effect rayon with teal, sage, tan and dark green. The dress is worn over a crinkled silk peasant blouse and a dark lime green underskirt.

Leather sandals worn over striped stockings complete her outfit.

Collect natural seedpods, shells and cones to full the leaf basket containers for her peddler’s wares. Instructions are included for her leaf fan, pixie dust bags and other accessories. A cardboard tray may be substituted for the basket.
